Post 5: A Photograph

Dear Students, this week you have to write about a photograph you like.

Say:

Who took it
What it shows
When it was taken
Why you like it
Upload it too

Include any other information you'd like to mention.
Write at least 150 words.

Here is my sample:

I have so many pictures that I enjoy, that it would be difficult to make up my mind for one, so I chose one that I know little about it’s background, but I do know who is there.

First, what I don’t know about it. I have no idea who took it. It probably was one of my father’s friends or brothers. It must have been taken during the seventies, but I don’t really know exactly when.

Now what I do know. The goalkeeper about to catch the ball is my father – Ricardo. He’s has played in that position all his life and even though he never went pro, he is really good; even now, that he is in his sixties (shame on me I lost track of his age :S).

This picture inspired me for many years to train a lot, to be as good as my dad, and the maneuver it displays became a milestone (a reference point) to  my progress, that is to say, every time I trained, I aimed to that kind of ability.
Now as a bonus, I'm showing you the result . . . :)
