Post 4: Themed Post

Dear Students,
This week’s post is one of those you previously chose, and that is music. So, you have 2 options to write about:
1)      Your favorite kind of music:
-Name and define your favorite kind of music.
-Say why you like it.
-Say a bit of history of it.
-Talk about outstanding representatives of that kind of music

2)      Your favorite song:
-Name your favorite song and talk about its background.
-Tell us what the song is about.
-Say when the first time you listened to it was.
-Explain why that song is special for you.

The post has to be 180 – 200 words and you need to comment on 3 of your classmates’ blogs.

Now, this is my post:

I cannot really say I have a favorite song, but one the ones that’s turned out to be very special to me is “Tu Guardian” (Your Guard) by Juanes, whose real name is Juan Esteban Aristizábal Vásquez. He is a Colombian singer, songwriter and activist who was born in 1972. The song is part of the album “Mi Sangre” (My blood) released in 2004.
The narrator of the songs seems to be a father who is singing a lullaby to his child. The song is a promise to always stay close to assist his baby. The father commits himself to watch over his baby’s sleep. He offers to help it in difficult times. He also promises that neither dragons nor ghost would come at night, and many other magic and loving things like that.
I think I’d heard the song ever since they started to play it on the radios, but I had never had paid much attention to it.
One day – and this is why it is so special to me – when my son’s first birthday was coming, I decided to make a video for him using pictures of his growth and of course . . .the song. . .. I LOVE YOU SON .. .
