SESSION 6 (WEEK 8) >> THEMED POST 3

Dear Students,

This week we have to do a new post from the topics chosen by you: Animals.
In your post mention the following:

-an animal you like or worry about.
-what you know about it.
-why you like it or worry about it.
-experiences you have had with it.
230 -250 words.

Here you have my post:

An animal that's always caught my attention is the tiger, which is the biggest feline, which would place even about the one many consider the king of the jungle. The tiger is carnivorous and lives in some parts of Asia, and there are different kinds. All of them are endangered. Some sub species used to live in islands, but most of them are extinct.

As I mentioned before, the tiger is the greatest feline, and has been used as a symbol of strength by different cultures, and this is one of the main reasons I like it. It is also a very beautiful animal.

I have never been next to one, and as most of us, the only place I have seen live ones is the zoo. I could say that I started to get interested in it, after participating in some organizations which use it as an icon to represent some of the aspects men must develop. For examples, the concept behind the tiger is used together with other real and unreal creatures. One of them is the eagle. In this analogy, the tiger stands as strength and the eagle as ability. Another analogy is the tiger and the dragon, in which the tiger is a representation of the physical power and the warrior’s determination, and the dragon means the spiritual dimension of man. But this teachingful admiration is not the only thing I feel. It also makes me sad the way men are not protecting such an amazing species.
